About The Dublin School of Guitar

The Dublin School of Guitar was established in 1979. Since its inception it has become one of Ireland's most prestigious guitar schools. The school during it's time has been the home of many well-known guitarists including Gerry Leonard ( David Bowie, Rufus Wainwright and Susanne Vega ) Ronnie Drew ( The Dubliners ) and Bill Shanley ( Mary Black ) to name but a few.

The school prides itself on having courses for both the enthusiast and the serious guitar player with the facility for students to complete exams at Trinity Guildhall London - The Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music - The Royal Irish Academy of Music - The London College of Music and the R.G.T. - The Victoria College of Music London,Successful candidates receive a graded certificate from one of the above colleges. We also cater for all the major and relevant examining bodies.

The duration of these courses vary; the candidates may work at their own pace as circumstances differ from one individual to another. Alternatively the student can study purely for their own enjoyment without the need for a syllabus but still benefit from the experience of the tutors.
